Product Manager - HRIS

The Product Manager is responsible for project initiation, requirements gathering, project planning, task execution, status reporting, change control, quality assurance and solution delivery. The Product Manager maintains project team focus on success and customer service, communicates comfortably and effectively with all project stakeholders at all levels of the enterprise, technical and non-technical, effectively manages third-party providers, identifies, manages, and appropriately escalates risks and issues. Candidates should be comfortable with HR and Payroll software. The Product Manager position will involve assisting the development team in completing detailed requirements documentation. 


  • Knowledge of Agile project management

  • Previous experience working with or in an HR & Payroll system

  • Strong project planning and management tasks

  • Captures and clarifies business requirements for the development team

  • Organize and triage product initiatives and help define product solutions

  • Own the backlog and keep it prioritized and groomed

  • Proven ability to lead, manage and motivate cross-functional teams?challenged with multiple priorities

  • Capable of working in the areas of business and technical requirements analysis, documentation

  • Team player attitude is mandatory

  • Communicates with business users to define business requirements

  • Successfully manage assigned projects from initiation through closure?

  • Active participation in sprint planning, sprint demos and sprint retros

  • Have a customer service approach while performing the job

  • Keep in touch with executive management, team members, business and technology professionals via both written and oral methods

  • Understand clients core product problems, needs, and wants from a strategic to a tactical level 

  • Analyze complex business problems, propose effective solutions and understand and apply business vision and direction


  • Minimum of 5 years of product management experience

  • Bachelor's Degree with a concentration in Business Management, Project Management, or related field.

  • Candidates with previous experience working with or in an HR & Payroll system would be best suited for this role.

  • Possessing a Project Management and/or Business Systems Analyst Certification is a big plus

  • Experience with VSTS in a big plus
